Help Players Discover Your Roblox Game
Present the game clearly, make its first session worthwhile, and use acquisition data to understand who finds it. Discovery is not a guaranteed formula for going viral.
Understand what discovery measures
Roblox's recommendations are personalized. Signals include engagement, repeat play, early departures, and intentional play with friends. Their use can evolve.
Compare acquisition sources separately. Players who arrive from a friend's invitation can behave differently from people seeing a recommendation for the first time.
Match the promise to the playable game
Show the experience a player can actually enter. For a dinosaur museum, the title and imagery should communicate exploring exhibits, not a dinosaur battle that the game does not contain.
Keep the arrival recognizable: the glass hall, an obvious path, and an exhibit the player can approach. A clear first minute gives people a fair chance to discover the rest.
Ask a new tester what they expected before playing, then compare that with what they experienced.
Find the first point of confusion
Watch someone enter without narrating instructions. Note whether they find the objective, interact successfully, and understand the result.
Fix one observed problem before adding more attractions. Our shareable-game guide explains how a clear hook and repeatable moments can support word of mouth.
Improve the arrival in my dinosaur museum explorer. From spawn, show the main glass hall, a nearby first clue, and a connected visitor path.
Keep the existing architecture and exploration loop. Add a compact objective hint that works on touch screens, and make the first exhibit interaction give clear feedback. Preserve later quests and inventory.
Verify that a new player can reach the exhibit and finish the first objective. Do not replace player control with a cinematic camera.Read the discovery reports
In Creator Dashboard, select the experience and inspect Analytics → Acquisition → Home Recommendations. Review the reporting period and compare it with your update history.
Benchmarks provide context; they are not a guaranteed ranking threshold. Use our analytics walkthrough to connect a report to a specific testable improvement.
Plan your next experiment
Write down the problem, change, date, and expected player behavior. Avoid changing the title, thumbnail, onboarding, and rewards simultaneously if you want to understand which change helped.
A small early sample can suggest questions without establishing a trend. Pair the numbers with direct playtest observations.
