BloxAI (Blox AI) vs PromptBlox for Roblox games

Short answer: BloxAI and PromptBlox both use AI for Roblox, but they do different jobs. BloxAI, at bloxai.net, is a code editor and assistant that works on a place you already have open in Roblox Studio, through a Studio plugin. PromptBlox builds a new game, the world and its Luau scripts, from a description in your web browser, and gives you a Roblox place file (.rbxlx) to open in Studio when you want to playtest and publish.

• BloxAI may suit you if you already build in Roblox Studio and want help writing and changing the scripts in your own place.
• PromptBlox may suit you if you want a first version of a whole game built from a description, with a 3D preview while it builds and saved versions of each change before you open Studio.

Is BloxAI free?

BloxAI has a free plan. Its website lists 50 free AI requests, 3 projects and real-time Studio sync. After that, BloxAI sells one-time credit packs instead of subscriptions: $6.99 for 1,500 AI credits, which the site says is about 300 AI requests, and $44.99 for 12,000 AI credits. The site says the credits never expire. BloxAI’s terms of service say all credit purchases are final and non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

PromptBlox publishes its prices on the pricing page. The Free plan includes Light builds with a small weekly usage allowance, chat edits, saved versions and .rbxlx export. Paid plans are Lite, Pro, Max, Ultra and Ultra+, starting at $9.99 a month for Lite. Higher plans add a larger weekly allowance and higher build levels: Medium with Pro, High with Max, and Ultra with Ultra and Ultra+. Builds and edits draw on the allowance according to the build level and the size of the request, so there is no fixed price per game. One-time extra credits are also available for when a weekly allowance runs out.

Can BloxAI make a whole Roblox game?

BloxAI is built to write and edit code in a place you already have. Its site says the AI sees your whole project, and one request can touch several scripts: one of its example requests is a shop system with RemoteEvents on the server and the client. Every change it proposes waits for you to accept or reject it. The site does not describe building a game world from a text description.

PromptBlox starts one step earlier. You describe the whole game, and the build makes the world and the Luau scripts that run it. When you export, the .rbxlx file holds the world and its scripts: server scripts in ServerScriptService, player scripts in StarterPlayer › StarterPlayerScripts, and shared modules in ReplicatedStorage. You read and edit those scripts in Roblox Studio after you export. In PromptBlox you change them by asking in chat.

How building a game in PromptBlox works

1. Describe the game. In Create, write the setting, what players do and how they win, or add a reference picture. Pick a build level your plan includes.
2. Follow the build. PromptBlox makes one concept image as the visual reference, then builds the world and its scripts while you watch the Activity feed and a 3D preview. You can send notes while it works.
3. Refine in chat. Ask for a specific change, such as “The shop door should open only after the player finds the key.” Each saved edit appears in History.
4. Export and playtest. Download the .rbxlx file, open it in Roblox Studio and playtest the whole loop before you publish.

The first build is a starting point, not a guaranteed finished game, and build time depends on the level and scope. The PromptBlox v2.0 release notes describe the build levels, Game Graph and game import in more detail.

Using BloxAI and PromptBlox together

A PromptBlox export is a normal Roblox place file, so you can open it in Studio and keep working on it with any Studio tools you use, including a code assistant such as BloxAI. Changes you make in Studio stay in that file and do not sync back into PromptBlox, so keep track of which file you tested.

Going the other way, you can import an existing .rbxlx place, up to 25 MB, into PromptBlox as a new project and refine it in chat. Keep your original file and check the result in Studio, especially custom assets and scripts.

Age rules and accounts

BloxAI’s terms require users to be at least 13, and users between 13 and 18 need a parent’s or guardian’s consent. Its privacy policy says the service is not directed at children under 13. You sign up with an email address and a password and verify the email. The terms say BloxAI is independent and not affiliated with Roblox Corporation, and that you keep ownership of the scripts and code you create with it.

PromptBlox is also for ages 13 and up, and anyone aged 13 to 18 should have a parent or guardian review the Terms. You sign in with a Google, Discord or Roblox account.
