# Understand Roblox DevEx and Cashing Out

Learn how Roblox earnings differ from cash payouts, what to check before requesting DevEx, and where PromptBlox fits in the process.

## Separate game currency, Robux, and cash

Coins inside your game are part of its design. Robux are Roblox's platform currency. DevEx is Roblox's program for exchanging qualifying Earned Robux for money, subject to eligibility and review.

Purchased Robux and subscription grants are not automatically qualifying Earned Robux. Roblox determines which earnings qualify. A balance shown in a game interface is not proof of cash-out eligibility.

## Check your current eligibility

Review the official requirements before planning a payout. They include age, a qualifying earnings threshold, verified email, account standing, and the required DevEx account and tax information.

Use Roblox's current documentation for thresholds and exchange rates. Do not treat an older tutorial or an estimated shop revenue figure as approval.

## Submit through Roblox

1. In Creator Dashboard, open Finances → Cash Out.
2. Review your eligibility and complete the request with accurate information.
3. Follow Roblox's review and official DevEx onboarding instructions when provided.
4. Track the result in the official process; submission is not approval.

Keep identity, payment, and tax documents out of PromptBlox prompts or public project notes.

## Keep a useful earnings record

Create a simple record for each reporting period: experience, earning source, reported earnings, relevant costs, request status, and actual payout if one arrives. Keep estimates separate from money received.

For example, an expanding museum game might have more visitors after a new exhibit but also higher development costs. Recording both makes it easier to understand the update without assuming that traffic became spendable income.

Use these fields in your own notes or spreadsheet. Use Copy page above to keep a copy of this guide and the field list.

- **Reporting period:** start and end dates.
- **Experience:** the game the record covers.
- **Earning source:** the product, pass, or program shown in your records.
- **Reported earnings:** the Robux amount and whether it is pending or confirmed.
- **Costs:** each expense, amount, and currency.
- **DevEx request:** submission date and current status, if applicable.
- **Actual payout:** the amount, currency, and date received; leave blank until received.
- **Estimates:** record separately from confirmed earnings and payouts.

Verify any exchange-rate or eligibility assumptions against current Roblox information. Keep identity documents, bank details, and tax identifiers out of this record.

## What PromptBlox helps with

PromptBlox can help you create and refine the game and its [monetization experience](/guides/roblox-monetization). It does not approve DevEx requests, determine qualifying earnings, or guarantee income.

Improve one part of the player experience at a time and keep your business expectations tied to observed results. Our [analytics guide](/guides/roblox-analytics) explains how to approach those observations.
